from 5th to 8th December 2009

Come and discover the traditions of Christmas at the foot of the Schlern, when the farmers and craftsmen and women of Castelrotto exhibit and sell traditional Advent products at their Christmas market. The pleasures of the stomach are well and truly catered for by the Castelrotto hosts and farmers’ wives who, if you wish to join them in baking a batch of Christmas biscuits, will even let you in on the secrets of their age-old recipes. For the romantically disposed, a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow-blanketed countryside of the Alpe di Siusi lies ahead.

Baking cookies for Christmas
Local farmer’s wives let you take part in preparing Christmas cookies and reveal old traditional recipes.

Guided tour through Castelrotto
You will learn a lot of interesting things about the history, culture, traditions and life of this village on this guided tour. After visiting the steeple of Castelrotto, a cup of hot mulled wine is waiting for you on the Christmas market.

Sleigh ride on the Alpe di Siusi
Wrapped in snug blankets and warmed by a glass of hot gluhwein, a horse-drawn carriage will take you on a romantic journey over the Seiser Alm covered in deep snow.

The well maintained ski pistes and modern lifts on the Alpe di Siusi offer lots of fun - and with the skipass Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi you can expand your trip on skis to 175 km of perfectly prepared slopes.

This means skiing with one day free of charge: 7 days accommodation at the price of 6.

Our ski rental shops offer all the ski equipment you need for 5 days a week, as well as a complete maintenance service.

Carving technique tutorial
You receive valuable carving tips from your ski instructor and your feeling of carving turns on ski will definitely increase.

Skipass Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi for 5 days
For the alpine ski friends we offer 175 km of ski runs with different levels of difficulty and 83 ski lift facilities. In addition, the use of the Alpe di Siusi Cableway and the shuttle busses (line 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9) are included in the skipass.
First day of skipass validity: 10th January 2010

Discovering the Dolomites with your children, a great Natural World Heritage Site!
The Alpe di Siusi ski area, with its breathtaking landscape covered with sparkling snow, offers a variety of alpine fun for the entire family. Our expert instructors make learning to ski child's play! A whole afternoon he will give you useful carving-technique advices, and he will take you to locations shrouded in legend, where you will learn something about the witches of the “Sciliar” mountain. At the end, a small award is waiting for the intrepid skiers.

This offer is valid for 2 adults and 1 child from 3 to 6 years. Children share the room with their parents (with separate bed).

1 family ski afternoon with ski guide
Take our family ski instructor with you on the “witch tour” so that you and your family can enjoy everything together. While receiving valuable carving tips you will be accompanied to locations shrouded in legend where you will learn something about the witches of the “Sciliar” mountain.
